Sheikh Raid Salah has outlined the situation of the Palestinians living in Israel, saying that their land possessions have been reduced 16-fold. According to him, this means that they now own only 3.5 percent of the land. He said even their population has increased six-fold, adding that prior to 1948 they numbered 160,000, whereas now they account for around a million.

Children waved green Islamic flags, young women in hijabs sold large maps of "Palestine before the Nakba," the "catastrophe" of 1948, and sheikhs and politicians spoke of the need to support their Palestinian brothers in the territories, defend the Aksa Mosque and fight for equal rights as Arab citizens of Israel.
