1.  Growing Up in Botswana
[
By Fatima Jada Bardien,IslamOnline(IOL)]
"Dumela!" This is the greeting of the Botswana (people of Botswana). I was born in South Africa but grew up in a little town known as Lobatse in Botswana. I am usually teased that if people drove too fast they might just miss the town itself! Botswana is very peaceful and crime is at a minimum. I don't remember ever locking our gates or doors during the day, al-hamdu lillah.

2. International Religious Freedom Report
[
2005 (U.S DEPARTMENT of STATE)]
The Constitution provides for freedom of religion, and the Government generally respects this right in practice.

There was no change in the status of respect for religious freedom during the period covered by this report, and government policy continued to contribute to the generally free practice of religion. The generally amicable relationship among religions in society contributed to religious freedom

3.  Islam in Botswana Wikipedia
[
By WIKIPEDIA]
Islam is the third largest religion in Botswana, following Christianity and indigenous beliefs. Islam came to the country through Muslim immigrants from South Asia, who settled in the area during the British colonial rule. Muslims comprise less than 1 percent of the population. The relations between the different religious groups remain peaceful and friendly despite rising inter-religious tensions in the other parts of Africa.
