Geneva, Shawwal 14/Jan 9 (IINA) - The Swiss Muslim League has set up the Cultural Organization for Children and Youth, whose main objective is to preserve the identity of Muslim children. This is done in coordination with the Muslim Women’s Cultural Society of Switzerland.

A statement issued by the Swiss Muslim League says that the aim is to unify the efforts of the Muslims here and to advance their cause.

The league’s statement went to say that the Muslim Women’s Cultural Society of Switzerland is considered the consummation of the Swiss Muslim League, particularly with regard to matters related to women, and his already drawn up its plan for its activities in 2001. These activities would include lectures, seminars, courses of study, Islamic cultural contests, participation in Islamic book fairs, in addition to numerous other activities that are related to women and young girls. The organization is also involved in organizing special Qur’an memorization courses during official school holidays.

Muslims, though relatively new to the country, make up 350,000 of Switzerland’s population, and they enjoy complete freedom of worships and association. They also don’t face the problems that Muslims in other countries of Europe experience. One reason is that the majority of Muslim immigrants in Switzerland are educated, such as those working at the UN, or political fugitives, or serious students.
